Al Lubel became a lawyer to please his mother and a comedian to please his sadistic need to torture her. After graduating from law school, Al moved to Los Angeles, passed the bar exam on his first try – and immediately began the practice of...stand-up comedy!
Lawyer by day and comedian by night, laughter followed him wherever he went – even into the courtroom. At the comedy clubs, the crowds would stare. In the courtroom, the juries would laugh. Al gradually began getting work on the road, soon became a full-time comic, and decided to quit law.
This was a good decision, because within a year he won the $100,000 Grand Prize for comedy on Star Search. Lubel was one of the last comics to appear on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and now is a recurring performer on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Legal Analyst.

Bill Burr is an American comedian or a comedian from the North American Union, depending on when you read this. He grew up outside of Boston, Massachusetts and did fairly poorly in school, despite the fact that he applied himself.
Having first gained notoriety for his reoccurring role on the second season of “Chappelle’s Show,” Burr has gone on to become a regular performer on the “Late Show with David Letterman” and to have his very own HBO Half Hour Special.
Bill’s most recent project was an hour-long comedy special entitled: “Why Do I Do This?” that aired on Comedy Central, and is now available in stores and on this web site.
When in New York, Burr always performs on the “Opie and Anthony” Radio Show and eats at Ray’s Famous Pizza. Bill also co-hosts his own XM radio show, “Uninformed”, with fellow comedian Joe DeRosa.
Bill is against organized religion and believes we should go back to the gold standard for our currency. None of his opinions are based on any sort of reliable information. He tends to go with his first thought, because reading makes him sleepy.
In the future Bill hopes to get married, have some kids, and get a dog. But until then, he will continue to spend most of his mid-afternoons sitting in his sweatpants learning AC/DC songs on his SG.

When he arrived in New York, he didn't make it easy for himself. He became the only white comic working at Harlem's Uptown Comedy club where people came to heckle him every week. An old comic named Uncle Jimmy Mac - who gave everyone nicknames - nicknamed him D.C. Benny and the name stuck.
While at the Uptown, Benny would do all his characters, Puerto Rican building superintendents, Pakastani cabdrivers, Korean deli owners, Israeli Gangsters, Jamaican Nannies; everyone he interacted with became part of his act.
Over the last few years, Benny's comedy and face have been popping up everywhere. His comedy performances have been featured on "Showtime at the Apollo," "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson," and "Comedy Centrals USO Tour" As an actor, he's made numerous television appearances, including "Law and Order," "Now and Again," and the soap-opera "Guiding Light," where he was given the opportunity to use his finely honed fighting skills to beat-up one of the main characters. Most recently, he was featured in his very own Comedy Central half-hour comedy special, was a finalist in NBC's Last Comic Standing and is in the films "Freedomland" with Samuel Jackson, "Where God Left His Shoes" with John Leguizamo and "Spiderman 3.”

Born in the Bronx and raised throughout various parts of New York, Dean's travels have made it easy for him to communicate with all walks of life. His career began over a decade ago in a college talent show.
Always the multi-tasker, Dean divided his college career between classes, and a 6 year term in the U.S. Army reserves. Although his fellow soldier's loved his impression of their drill sergeant, Dean spent many an afternoon doing push-ups for his comedic talent.
After graduating with a degree in communications, Dean began performing more often and has since earned a reputation as a headlining favorite. Club & college crowds nationwide consider him a hot new talent on the rise.
His first big break was on Russel Simmons' Def Comedy Jam. Subsequently, he was a featured comedian on Showtime at the Apollo a few years later. Dean followed his TV appearances with some commercial work and even worked with Spike Lee on the Original Kings of Comedy feature film.
After 2 seasons on Saturday Night Live, Dean has already made his mark with such memorable impressions as Michael Jackson and Denzel Washington and original characters such as "Man in elevator" and "Cop#2". Dean has pushed himself to the limits of creativity and exhaustion, juggling his SNL career, his numerous standup appearances (including his recent appearance on Comedy Central's USO Comedy Tour), and his childhood goal as UN goodwill ambassador to Lesotho. After more than a decade of comedy, Dean feels he's just getting started...

He started stand-up comedy in the late 70's in college, but moved back to NY and was a copywriter for an advertising agency for a short while. But in July of 1984 he got back into doing stand-up when he started, booked and hosted the very successful Paper Moon Comedy Club in the west village of NYC and hasn't stopped since. Since then he has become an international comedian who can work most anywhere in the world.

Comedy Central's "Heroes of Jewish Comedy"
As a Boston University student at the tender age of 19, the Boston Herald hailed Elon Gold as "a comedy star on the rise." Five years later, Comedy Central selected him and three others (including Dave Chappelle) to be profiled in their Pipeline series of future comedy stars. Today, his star continues to rise as Gold has established himself as one of the top comedians in the country.
Gold has emerged into a naturally gifted stand-up comic, sketch performer, actor, and writer. Having discovered at a very young age that he had an uncanny ability to do impressions, Gold went from mimicking teachers to mastering truly unique voices like Charles Grodin and Howard Stern. Gold's impression-infused routine led to his first television appearance on MTV's Half-Hour Comedy Hour where he appeared alongside Chris Rock, Ray Romano and Drew Carey. Gold was invited to perform at the world-renowned Just For Laughs Montreal International Comedy Festival, where he appeared in a Showtime Network special hosted by the late John Candy.
Gold combined his stand-up, writing and acting skills to develop and star in the Columbia TriStar pilot Good as Gold. Gold assembled an all-star cast including Mary Tyler Moore as his mom, Elliot Gould as his father and Jonathan Silverman as his brother. Although the pilot did not become a network series, Gold learned the value of mining his real life for comedic inspiration.
As he gets set to make his third appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Gold is currently performing at corporate events and comedy clubs across the country doing what he does best ... makin' em laugh! Currently, Gold splits his time between New York and Los Angeles, and between the Friar's Club and time with his wife Sacha and son Brandon. . .and, of course, his in-laws.

New Jersey native Jim Norton is a nationally-touring comedian and best-selling author who can be heard weekday mornings on the Opie & Anthony radio show. The show, which is listened to by millions of devoted fans each day, airs on both CBS and XM radio networks.
Jim is currently performing his unique stand-up to sold-out crowds across the country. His diverse audience is hoping to experience what Judi Brown of the Aspen Comedy Festival calls "brutal honesty" comedy. Judi also described Jim as "refreshing in a business where a lot of people are phony."
Jim's first book, "Happy Endings: The Tales of a Meaty-Breasted Zilch" was published in July 2007. The New York Times bestseller is a collection of Jim's personal journal entries, raunchy sex stories, embarrassing star sightings, and pathetic childhood memories. Jim's second book, "I Hate Your Guts," also became a New York Times bestseller upon its release in November 2008.
On television, Jim hosts HBO's "Down and Dirty with Jim Norton." Premiering in late September 2008, "Down and Dirty" showcases new stand-up comedians. Jim was most recently seen in Monster Rain, his one-hour HBO stand-up show. He also starred in HBO's "Lucky Louie" as well as in Comedy Central’s "Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn." He has performed on Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Late Show with David Letterman had a half-hour special on HBO's One Night Stand, and has been featured on both Jimmy Kimmel Live and Last Call with Carson Daly.
In addition to radio, books, TV and touring, Jim has released two CD's of his stand-up comedy: 2002's “Yellow Discipline” and 2003's “Trinkets I Own Made From Gorilla Hands.”

Judah Friedlander is a stand-up comedian known as the WORLD CHAMPION. With 18 years of stand-up experience, Judah is a comic's comic and a crowd-pleaser. In his stand-up act, Judah is the WORLD CHAMPION. He's a great athlete, master of the martial arts, gets tons of chicks & is a role model to children. And he's better than you at everything. He spends much of his stand-up show interacting with the audience and constantly one-upping them. For example, if Judah finds out that a man in the crowd is in the computer business, Judah will ask him, "How many gigabytes you got?" The audience member says "80 gigabytes." Judah, then says "I have a million. A million gigabytes. As a matter of fact, I'm not even here right now. I'm getting beamed in from my computer at home. This is a pre-recorded projected digital image you're watching. Right now, I'm at home, taking a huge dump, just relaxing. That's what a million gigs will get you. But stick with 80, it's probably a good level for you."
When not doing stand-up, Judah does a lot of acting work. He's currently a series regular on the Thursday night NBC comedy 30 ROCK , co-starring with Tina Fey & Alec Baldwin.
Judah's been in over countless other movies including Meet the Parents, Zoolander, Date Movie, Wet Hot American Summer, Feast, and Showtime. Judah's many TV appearances include VH1's Best Week Ever, HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm, MTV's Wonder Showzen, The Tonight Show, other late night talk shows & Comedy Central shows. Judah also starred as the Hug Guy in the classic Dave Matthews Band music video Everyday.
Judah is currently working on a long awaited stand-up comedy CD & concert movie.

Who can turn the world on with her smile? Mary Tyler Moore. But who can turn the world on with her hysterical stories, original humor, and boisterous characters? Kerri Louise.
Kerri can entertain any audience with her warmth and razor-edge wit. So it's no wonder that NBC took Kerri all the way to the finals in the show “Last Comic Standing,” with Jay Mohr. She impressed The Women's Entertainment network so much that they cast her as the star of their new reality show "Two Funny."
Kerri Louise gives common sense, hysterical mommy advice as the ‘Mean Mommy’ on the television shows “The Radio Rita's” and “Montel Show.” She can also be seen on the WE network and the Fine Living Channel. Kerri's broad appeal laid the groundwork for her special appearances on NBC's “Access Hollywood,” “The Apprentice,” ABC's “The View,” Comedy Central, VH1, 20/20, and New Joke City.

In just a few short years Kyle Grooms has become one of the funniest young comics on the New York stand-up circuit. His love for comedy caused him to abandon his career as Art Director for a Hispanic television network and perform comedy full-time. Today he is a headlining comedian with numerous television shows to his credit. This New Jersey born comedian is determined to be one of the strongest comedic voices of our generation.
Kyle delivers an honest and intelligent approach toward comedy. He intimately analyzes his life experiences growing up in the American melting pot. Kyle says, "I want to spill my guts on stage." His exploration of the human experience crosses many ethnic and social boundaries. For this reason, Kyle has been invited to perform on shows as diverse as "Showtime at the Apollo," "Comedy Picante," "Premium Blend," and "Tough Crowd with Collin Quinn." Kyle has also been well received throughout England, Holland and at the Montreal Comedy Festival.
His interest in comedy started around the age of nine. Often left home alone, Kyle kept himself entertained by listening to eight track tapes of singer Otis Redding and comedian Richard Pryor. Never a great singer, Kyle would perform Pryor's jokes for his friends and family. Eventually he would develop his own comedic wit. But comedy wasn't his first career choice after high school. As a former graffiti artist, Kyle chose to attend the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale where he received a degree in commercial art.
Kyle's TV and Radio credits include "Def Comedy Jam," "Comic View," "Que Locos," "Chappelle's Show," and as "Information Guy" on "Straight Plan for the Gay Man."

Lisa Lampanelli is Comedy's Lovable Queen of Mean. Heralded as "more than a standup -- a standout," by comedy legend Jim Carrey, Lampanelli is a cross between Don Rickles, Archie Bunker, and a vial of estrogen. She even won accolades from The King of All Media Howard Stern, who called her "a true original and a brilliant comedy mind who'll steal the show every time."
Lampanelli is a regular on “The Tonight Show” and Howard Stern's Sirius satellite radio shows. She recently joined the ranks of comic greats and added her first ever one-hour HBO comedy special, "Long Live the Queen," to her resume. In addition, her first book, "Chocolate, Please: My Adventures in Food, Fat and Freaks," hit bookstore shelves on September 15, 2009.
Lisa's rise to the top of the comedy food chain began in 2002 when she was the only female comedian invited to skewer Chevy Chase on the “NY Friars Club Roast” on Comedy Central. She soon became one of the few white comedians to perform on BET's "Comic View," cementing her huge crossover appeal. Lisa appeared on Comedy Central's "Last Laugh 2005" and her headlining performances on the Comedy Central roasts of Pamela Anderson and William Shatner, among others, received national attention. Also in 2005, Lisa rocked Comedy Central once again in her back-to-back appearances on "Premium Blend" and on the enormously rated "Roast of Jeff Foxworthy" -- again, the only female invited to roast the man of honor. In 2009, she became Comedy Central's first-ever female Roastmaster at the Roast of Larry the Cable Guy.
Lisa's 2005 one-hour special, "Take It Like a Man," was a hit with the comedy network yet again, and the CD and the DVD of the same name hit #6 on the comedy charts. Then, in January 2007, Lisa's second one-hour special, "Dirty Girl," debuted on Comedy Central and Warner Bros. Records, and reached #4 on the charts. Soon thereafter, "Dirty Girl" was nominated for a Grammy Award for 2007's Best Comedy Album of the Year.
Lisa has also taped several specials for VH1, MTV, and CMT, and was featured on the "Best of" episode of Comedy Central's "Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn." Known for saying things that most people are afraid to think, Lisa Lampanelli's raunchy, gut-busting performances are wildly popular at theaters across the U.S. and Canada.

Lori Chase started out her career in the theatre, performing onstage in over 30 productions worldwide, from Cats to Miss Saigon. In 2002, while performing on Broadway in The Full Monty, she had an epiphany: "I need to be home with my kids." After spending months alone at home with the kids, she had another epiphany, "I need to get away from my kids." At least occasionally!
Frightened by her new suburban New Jersey neighborhood, and missing the stage, she begged friends to put her up in stand-up venues so she could talk about her angst. "Stand-up was something I always did backstage because my ADD made it very difficult to do the same thing onstage 8 shows a week. It was something I always wanted to do, but never had the guts."
Four years later, you can see her every week at many of New York's premier comedy clubs. She's also performed on the road in Cleveland, Charlotte, San Francisco, San Jose, and New Jersey. Last summer, she was featured in an article in "The New Yorker," about a sitcom that was written based on her life. On television, she's been seen in Fox’s "Comics Unleashed, with Byron Allen," NBC's "Last Comic Standing, Season 4," a Bravo documentary called, "Gay Hollywood," (no, she's not gay...yet), and on Fox News Charlotte co-hosting a half hour comedy/news program called, "The Edge." On the radio, she appeared on Sirius "Wise Guys," with Big Pussy from the Sopranos.

As one of the country’s top emcees, Marion’s incredible ability to improvise has allowed her to master the art of talking with the audience. Always willing to be as self-revealing as she is probing of the audience…this affectionately edgy style has become Marion’s trademark. The result is a hilariously personal show that makes the audience feel like it was custom-made just for them.
Marion has toured with Linda Ronstadt, opened for Lewis Black, Judy Gold, and Robert Klein…as well as having shared the stage with Jerry Seinfeld, Dave Chappelle, Roseanne Barr and Robin Williams. She has performed for 1000+ seat rooms and for A-lister private events, including Gilda’s Club and Ethel Kennedy’s annual fundraisers. Marion knows firsthand that laughter is truly the best medicine, having survived breast cancer, divorce, and various addictions – including an inappropriate relationship to Haagen Dazs. Her dream is to be able to integrate her diverse life experiences, genuine concern for people, and unstoppable ability to make EVERYTHING funny...in a forum that would be both entertaining and helpful to other people.

Myq Kaplan is a comedian named Myq Kaplan (pronounced “Mike Kaplan” when done correctly or however you like, he’s not picky).
The Comedians Maagazine calls him “a comedy machine, in the best possible way. The way that some machines vend soda or prevent other machines from killing future revolutionaries – that’s how Myq Kaplan does comedy: relentlessly, methodically, unblinkingly.”
Myq just made his debut on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, and his half-hour Comedy Central Presents special will appear in 2010.
He has also appeared on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham, at the New Faces show of the 2009 Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, was voted 2008’s Best Local Comedian in the Boston Phoenix, and won the 2009 NY’s Funniest Standup Competition.
A Jewy-ish vegan atheist who spells the name “Mike” weird, Myq enjoys words, social justice, Netflix, and comic books. Also non-comic books, ping-pong, and being great with women. And grammar and run-on sentence fragments. And of course, being hilarious to his demographic, which is anyone who might know the word “demographic.”

In this day of watered down comedy, Nick Di Paolo's brutally honest performances stick out like a Catholic priest at the Little League World Series. Nick began his career in his hometown of Boston and two years later he made the jump to New York, where he found his seething, sarcastic style was welcomed with open arms by New York audiences at such clubs as "Catch a Rising Star," "Caroline's" and "The Comic Strip."
It was at clubs like these where he honed his uncompromising point of view, which makes him not only a club favorite, but a true "comic's comic." His range has allowed him to perform on shows as tame as "The Tonight Show," yet as edgy as HBO's "Young Comedians Special" and "Late Night with David Letterman."
He was twice nominated for an Emmy for his writing on "The Chris Rock Show." He has also had three half-hour stand-up specials of his own on Comedy Central. He also appeared on HBO'S "Lucky Louie". Not limited to stand-up and writing, he has had guest starring roles on "News Radio" and "The Sopranos," as well as in films.
A critic for the Winnipeg Press said it best when he described Nick as "Gentle as a starved wolverine and as predictable as a tipsy-hop through a minefield, Nick Di Paolo is an experience constrained only slightly by the demands of stand up comedy. "Di Paolo was one of the stars of Comedy Central's "Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn" and is a Howard Stern favorite. He also provides the voice for "Baby Nick" in the animated Comedy Central Series "Shorties Watchin' Shorties."

Asked to whom he aspires, Patrice mentions only two names: George Carlin and Richard Pryor: Carlin for his distinct point of view and universal appeal; Pryor for his honesty, vulnerability and personal revelation. Patrice has appeared on his own specials on HBO, Showtime and Comedy Central.

NBC's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien,"
NBC's "Last Comic Standing"
NBC's "Last Call w/ Carson Daly"
NBC's "The Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno"
There's a new name on the New York comedy scene that has people talking -- and laughing! Russ Meneve is on the fast track to becoming one of comedy's next big breakout stars. The Hawthorne, New Jersey native has been performing comedy in and around New York City for the past eight years, where he has honed his skills to an edge as sharp as his material. Nowhere was this more evident than on NBC-TV's "The Tonight Show," where Russ recently made his debut to rave reviews from host Jay Leno and an appreciative studio audience that he had rolling in the aisles.
Writing and performing stand-up comedy is life's blood for Russ. Of his experience as a stand-up comedian, Russ says: "I've never been happier. Comedy is a true art form, and when done creatively and skillfully, it is something very special." This deep respect for the art of comedy is apparent in Russ' performances. He is a tireless writer and performer, often performing seven days a week at a handful of comedy clubs throughout New York City.
Like many other aspiring stand-ups, Russ got his start by performing and, admittedly, bombing in a high school talent show. But it was that one experience that led him to his true calling. After a stint at as an accountant for Price Waterhouse, Russ left the mundane 9-to-5 life behind to pursue his dream. He entered the crucible of all crucibles for show biz hopefuls, New York City, and began performing at open mike nights around town. His strong work ethic and smart sense of humor made him a natural for the stage.
Among Russ' numerous credits are appearances on NBC-TV's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," "Last Call with Carson Daly" "Last Comic Standing," and "The Caroline Rhea Show." Ironically, all three shows are taped at the NBC Studios where Russ once worked as a page. Says Russ: "It's kind of weird to go back to perform stand-up where I worked as a page, seating people, getting coffee, getting yelled at by a guy with a clipboard and a headset. It sounds dismal, but it was show business. It's even more meaningful for me that I can go back as a comedian with a goal realized and a poignant memory of what motivated me to get there." With a keen eye sharply focused on the future, fully armed with an arsenal of powerful material, Russ Meneve is one comic poised for great success and the sky's the limit.

Sunda recalls her first performance, “I was scared but loved the thrill of being in front of an audience talking about my life.” And Sunda believes there is a lot to laugh at: “Because when you are a Bi-racial Jew, who grew up in the inner city looking like a Puerto Rican and your mother gives you a Hindu name and sends you to an Irish Catholic school….you are bound to be funny.”
Sunda has produced her own comedy shows including: “Femmes Fatales” one of the longest running female comedy showcases for NY’s Toyota Comedy Festival for eight years. She is also the Chairperson for the Annual“Laugh Off”, an event that brings awareness to Gilda’s Club of Northern New Jersey.

Vanessa is the quintessential native New Yorker. She only just got her drivers license a couple you years ago. She spent a year at Millbrook Mansion with her father who introduced Timothy Leary, and later, Paul McCartney of the Beatles to LSD. After an accidental "trip" of her own at 5 years old, she returned to the care of her mother who was trying to juggle the full time career of finding good grass in bad neighborhoods with her responsibilities as a mom. Throw in two years on a commune by herself, two years in London with her dad, a decade of temp work and her angst was complete. Coincidentally, a comedian was born.
Vanessa just did The World Comedy Tour in Australia in 2005 as well as, Comedy Central Presents which first aired February 2005. She was recently featured on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn, Dateline, and Oxygen as well as doing the Montreal Just for Laughs tour with Kevin Pollock. She has been invited to The Montreal Comedy Festival 5 Times in total. She has also performed on the The Jim Bruer Show, Comedy Central's Premium Blend and NBC's Louie Anderson Comedy Showcase.
She has completed her first screen play, which is now in development. Vanessa toured approximately 30 military bases in the Middle East for a month. She's a national headliner, can be seen all over the United States as well as Europe.
